Notes: This male Hoary Redpoll nicely displays multiple helpful field marks. Keys to the identification here include the frosty upperparts, the unstreaked rump and undertail coverts, the thick white wing bar, the lightly streaked flanks, the small red "poll" on the forehead, the creamy color of the face, the very faint red wash on the breast, and the small bill with upper mandible mostly covered by the nasal bristles.
